Volunteers are being sought to test a new, unique information resource for people and professionals across Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre.

Having listened to patients and health professionals across the area, the local Councils and Clinical Commissioning Groups have joined together to create a new directory of services that is now ready for testing.

The directory will list details of all local services, clubs, social groups, activities and wellbeing support groups that residents will be able to access from knitting groups to running clubs. The aim is to give people the means necessary to find something that interests them and encourage them to get involved in an attempt to improve health and wellbeing.

In order to make sure that the directory is as useful as possible for both the public and professionals, we are currently undertaking a period of testing, before a full, wider launch.

The test sessions will involve you working through a number of scenarios on a computer to explore the system and find suitable services using the new directory. The sessions will last around an hour and a half. We will provide the computers and guidance on how to use the directory online.

The dates and times of the sessions are listed below and you are welcome to attend any one of them depending on which session is most convenient for you.

  • Thursday 24 August, 1pm-2.30pm, Education Centre (Opposite Women and Children’s Centre), Blackpool Victoria Hospital, Whinney Heys Rd, Blackpool FY3 8NR.
