Improving the health of communities inquiries

  • Do you live in North Blackpool and Cleveleys OR South Blackpool?
  • Do you want to have a say about your community?
  • Do you like talking and listening to people?
  • Do you want to make Blackpool a better place to live in, grow up in and get old in?

If so we are planning to hold 9 Talking Spaces to look at things that affect you, your family and friends and what ‘we’ together could do to make things better. We also want to talk and hear about health services and how Blackpool and Cleveleys can be healthier places and need at least 20 people to take part.

Together we will try and answer the question;

for people living in North Blackpool and Cleveleys what are the main things that affect people’s health and wellbeing and what can be done about them’?

Not only do you get to talk and meet new people over a cup of tea or coffee, but for every Talking Space session you come to you will be offered a £20 gift voucher.

This project is called “Improving the health of communities” and will take place between 12 October 2017 and 14 December 2017.

The project is being run by community engagement specialists Shared Future and funded by the Public Health department of Blackpool Council alongside NHS partners.

As a result of the Talking Spaces sessions we want to send a series of ideas and suggestions for Blackpool Council, the NHS and other partners to look at. The ideas and suggestions from the group will help advise and shape what is done to better address health and wellbeing in Blackpool in the future.

The Far North and Cleveleys inquiry will take place at the Star Café, Victoria Road, Cleveleys on Thursdays 6:30-9pm beginning on Thursday 12 October 2017.

The South Blackpool inquiry will take place at the South Shore Community Centre, 120 Highfield Road on Thursdays 12:30-3pm beginning on Thursday 12 October 2017.

We would like you to come to all 9 Talking Spaces sessions so if you think there may something stopping you; like childcare, get in touch and we will try to help.

If you are interested in taking part in one of the inquiries (please note you must be a resident in one of the two areas) please complete the below form.
