Over three very sunny days the Fit2Go team at Blackpool Football Club Community Trust saw close to 1200 Year 4 pupils from local primary schools.
The pupils visited Bloomfield Road as part of Fit2Go which is delivered in every primary school in Blackpool as part of Altogether Now – a legacy for Blackpool, the multi-partnership programme between the NHS in Blackpool (Clinical Commissioning Group and Teaching Hospitals Foundation Trust), Blackpool Football Club and Blackpool Council. The aim of Altogether Now is to improve the health and wellbeing of every person in the town, with Fit2Go specifically targeting key stage 2 pupils.
Funded by NHS Blackpool and the Premier League/Professional Footballers Association Community Fund, Fit2Go involves a range of activities delivered in school and community settings one of which was the Festival on the Seasiders home turf.
Schools attended the festival in groups of approximately 250 pupils at a time enjoying different activities throughout the day. Activities included football, tag rugby and different athletics disciplines, along with educational sessions in the sponsors lounge and full stadium tours.
